Edgewood Independent School District is once again providing free summer meals to help ensure students stay nourished while school is out. The program offers both breakfast and lunch at 15 campuses across the district, supporting families during the summer months.
“At Edgewood ISD, our commitment starts with our students and extends to the entire community,” said Superintendent Dr. Eduardo Hernandez. “Providing free summer meals ensures students stay nourished and helps ease the burden on families facing rising food costs.”
Meals will be available Monday through Friday for all children and teens 18 years old and younger, with no income verification required. Breakfast will be served from 7:45–8:15 a.m., followed by lunch from 10:45–11:15 a.m.
The program launches June 1 at select sites, with many locations continuing service through mid-July. Participating campuses include Kennedy High School, Memorial High School, Fine Arts Academy, Roy Cisneros Leadership School, and several elementary schools throughout the district.
All meal sites will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth, and from June 29 through July 7.
EISD encourages families across the community to take advantage of this opportunity to access healthy meals throughout the summer.
